Following the development of the Nokia N- Internet appliance series is enjoyable because they do such a superb job. The original N700 was a neat idea that lacked a little bit in execution, but the follow-on N800 was extremely well-executed, with a nice OS that improved with age (thanks to good updates from Nokia), and nice design touches like an integrated flip-out stand and pop-out webcam for videoconferencing. Now, the N810 comes along with its own improvements. The most notable improvement: the integrated, slide-out keyboard. But "that's not all," as they say. There is also an integrated GPS receiver, FM transmitter (for in-the-car listening), and all of this in a condensed (smaller and slightly heavier) package.
The Nokia 810 is an Internet appliance designed for use around your house, in the car (although not by the driver), or the Internet café on the corner. It is a sort of "tween" device -- for when you want a richer Internet experience than you would have on mobile phone, but you want a more convenient platform than a laptop. The Nokia 810 is easy to carry and convenient to use.
The integrated Mozilla-based web browser supports Web 2.0 (Flash 9 and Class 8 and 9 AJAX) for a web browsing experience closer to what you would get on a PC. Integrated Skype makes it a useful device for travelers.
Other favorite features include its brilliant 4.1-inch 800×480 touchscreen, integrated kickstand, and an integrated VGA quality video camera. The LINUX-based OS 2008 includes an RSS reader, e-mail client, instant messaging, and voice over IP. It is also compatible with our ThinkOutside Bluetooth Stowaway Keyboard.
When purchased from Dynamism, the Nokia N810 includes our unlimited toll-free technical support and Rescue Service Warranty.
