  • Faster Cycles: Interchangeable build platform reduces print turnaround time.
  • Industrial Applications: Supports high-performance parts across multiple industries.

Metal 3D Printing Process

Metal Powder-Bed Fusion is an additive manufacturing process that uses a laser to fuse successive layers of metal powder into a fully dense, finished part. This method enables complex internal and external geometries that are difficult or impossible with traditional manufacturing.

1

Pre-processing

Optimizing CAD build file for additive manufacturing

2

Print Preparation

Loading build file & preparing build volume and adding metal powder

3

Print

Precision controlled fusion of the metal powder into layers that form the desired shape and volume

4

Remove Your Part

Remove  the part from build plate with wire EDM, bandsaw, or flush cutting tool

5

Post-processing

Removal of supports , final surface finishing And heat treating for mechanical properties

Technical Capabilities

Design Freedom with Metal 3D Printing

Metal Powder Bed Fusion enables the production of complex, high-precision geometries that are difficult or impossible to achieve with traditional manufacturing methods like machining or casting.

Applications

Prototyping

Xact Metal enables fast, local metal prototyping with parts that meet specified tolerances and material properties no debinding or sintering required.

On-Demand Metal Production

Xact Metal makes small-batch metal production fast, affordable, and precise, delivering high-density, ready-to-use parts on demand.

Accelerate Tooling and Development

Xact Metal delivers high-density, precise parts that speed development and reduce lead times, even for complex geometries.

Training for the Next Generation

Xact Metal 3D printers make metal additive manufacturing accessible and affordable, giving students hands-on experience with Industry 4.0 technologies.
