Ultimaker Error Codes and Solutions

Your Ultimaker printer has multiple sensors and safety features built in to help ensure your printer is operating correctly and safely. This page will show the common error codes along with links to guides on how to resolve the situation.

Ultimaker S Series Error Codes

Difference between detected height of both PrintCores exceeds realistic values
ER27 – Unspecified error
ER28 – Print core max temp
ER29 – Print core min temp
ER30 – Build plate max temp
ER31 – Print core heater error
ER32 – Z axis stuck or limit switch broken
ER33 – X or Y axis stuck or limit switch broken
ER34 – Print head communication error
ER35 – I2C communication error
ER36 – Safety circuit error
ER37 – Print head sensor error
ER38 – Active leveling correction failed
ER39 – Incorrect print temperature specified
ER40 – Incorrect build plate temperature specified
ER41 – Motion controller failed to update
ER42 – Print job not suitable for printer
ER43 – Flow sensor error
ER44 – Unable to download firmware due to lack of space on printer
ER45 – Capacitive sensor low performance or interference detected
ER50 – Unexpected filament position in Material Station
ER51 – Filament too short for use with Material Station
ER52 – Decoupler obstructed
ER53 – Filament too short for use with Material Station
ER54 – Filament loading unsuccessful
ER55 – Filament too short for use with Material Station
ER56 – Printer feeder filament pickup unsuccessful
ER57 – Material Station filament loading error
ER58 – Material Station could not react to Ultimaker S5 Printing
ER59 – Material Station could not react to the Ultimaker S5 during unloading
ER60 – Prefeeder unable to move filament during startup
ER61 – Material Station failed to unload material
ER62 – Filament sensor error
ER63 – Unknown error
ER64 – Cannot select / grayed out material on Material Station
ER65 – Flow sensor error
ER66 – Decouplers not calibrated
ER67 – Dehumidifier is not working correctly
ER68 – The humidity in the Material Station is high
ER70 – An expected error occurred during unloading material from bay X from extruder X
ER71 – Printcore EEPROM read zero
ER80 – Expected Air Manager is missing
ER86 – Air Manager fan is unable to rotate at the desired speed
ER998 – An unspecified error has occurred
ER999 – An unspecified error has occurred
The material failed to load wizard

Ultimaker 2+ Connect Error Codes

ER201 – Detected nozzle temperature is invalid
ER202 – The print head is not heating up steadily
ER203 – The detected build plate temperature is invalid
ER204 – Z axis stuck or limit switch broken
ER205 – X or Y axis is stuck or limit switch is broken
ER206 – Detected move outside normal volume. Please reslice your print.
ER207 – There was a serial communication within the electronics
ER208 – There was a communication error
ER209 – Detected error within the electronics
ER210 – Detected error with the power supply
ER211 – There was a communication error in the printer
ER212 – Your file could not be processed. Please provide a valid print file and do not remove the USB drive before the print is started
ER213 – An error occured while reading the print file. Please reslice your print
ER214 – Missing SD card
